Shelter Hope Pet Shop Thousand Oaks
Since opening in 2011, Shelter Hope Pet Shop has rescued and re-homed over 16,000 animals.

Located at the Janss Marketplace in Thousand Oaks, Shelter Hope is a not-for-profit, charitable, volunteer-driven rescue dedicated to facilitating dog adoptions, raising community awareness, and making a lasting impact on the lives of rescue dogs, their adopters, and shelters.

Shelter Hope takes in dogs of all ages from local and overcrowded high-kill shelters. This includes overlooked seniors and those with medical issues. They also rescue strays and surrenders from areas like Bakersfield, where the community faces a severe overpopulation crisis, as well as from other urgent situations where dogs are at risk.

While visiting local shelters is always encouraged, Shelter Hope offers a family-friendly, calm, and welcoming environment where visitors of all ages can connect with rescue dogs. Their thoughtful and thorough adoption process helps ensure each dog is placed in a stable, forever home—reducing the chance of them returning to the shelter system. All the dogs are fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped.
